It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lee Eugene Drum Sr. of Hickory, North Carolina, who passed away on April 22, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Eugene Drum and Hazel Reverne Barber Drum; his wife Madelaine Drum; and his children, Tammy Conway and Scotty Drum.
He is survived by: his son Lee Drum, Jr. (Teresa); his brothers, Jerry Drum (Thula) and Ronnie Drum (Glenda); his grandchildren, Beth Vetetoe (Tim), Josh Conway (Cynthia), Hayley Deal (Matt) and Caleb Drum (Emily); and his great grandchildren, Eric Vetetoe (Laura) and Sarah Vetetoe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Drowning Creek Baptist Church Building Fund at PO Box 814 Granite Falls, NC 28630 in Gene's name.
