With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Linda Mae Whitley of Hickory, North Carolina, who passed away on October 5, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though Linda may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Walter Snyder and Emma Mae Snyder; her husband Charles Brady Whitley; and her siblings, Bob Snyder and Nancy Kerr Shushkowski.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Whitley, Robin Allen and Karen Whitley. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; and soon to be, great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home (940 29th Ave NE, Hickory, NC 28601).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
