It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marcus David Whitener of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on March 17, 2022, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Robert William Whitener, Sr.; and his brothers, Roger, Wayne, Tommy and Jimmy Whitener.
He is survived by: his mother Ruby Farris Whitener of Hickory; his wife Mary Brittain Whitener; his daughter Mandy Greene (Jason) of Hickory; his granddaughter Morgan Olivia Greene of Hickory; and his brothers, Bobby Whitener (Marlene) of Maiden and Doug Whitener of Hickory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Winkler's Grove Baptist Church, 3320 9th Ave. Dr., NW, Hickory, NC 28601.
