She was predeceased by: her husband Sam G. Gouge; her grandson Patrick E. Gouge; her parents, Clyde Huskins and Mollie Ray Huskins; and her siblings, Joyce Autrey of Thelma Hensley, J. C, Bennie Huskins, Morris Huskins and Arthur Lee Huskins.
She is survived by: her children, Samuel L. Gouge (Pam), Rene Gouge Slaughter (Terry), Timothy L. Gouge (Deborah) and Jeffrey S. Gouge (Susan); and her sisters, Mary Ann Huskins of Marion, NC and Louise Hensley of Burnsville, NC.. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Viewmont Baptist Church (1246 2nd St NE, Hickory, NC 28601). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
