It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Abernathy Owenby (Hickory, North Carolina), who passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Major Franklin and Myrtle McAlister Abernathy; and her husband Edward Owenby. She is survived by: her children, Anthony Wayne Owenby, Pamula Solbakken (Ayrton) and Jimmy Solbakken; her grandchildren, Jon, Jeff, Stephen, Kayla, Caleb, Silas, Cindy, Jax of Ayden, RJ, Kaydence and Asher; and her sister Pansy Jonas. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
