It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Dean Hoover (Hickory, North Carolina), born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on March 21, 2024, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Scott Sr. and Alline Rhinehardt Scott; her siblings, Frances Scott Rainey, George Scott and Jim Scott; her nephew Eugene Austin; and her great-nephew Brandon Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Richard D. Hoover Jr.; her sons, Bryan Hoover (Lala) of Salisbury, NC and Maurice McDowell of Hickory, NC.; her siblings, Lyndea Mervin (Clark) of Hickory, NC, Carrol Lawrence Rosemary Scott (Barry) of Hickory, NC, Michael Scott (Becky) of Hickory, NC, Arthur Scott (Melinda) of Hickory, NC and Eugene Scott of Newton; and her grandchildren, Marcus Hoover, Brayden Hoover, Gabriella Hoover, Peyton Hoover, Genesis Hoover, Kamdyn McDowell, Travion McDowell and Isaiah McDowell. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
