He was predeceased by: his father Fred Sherman Johnston; his wife Pamela Wakefield Johnston; and his son Sean Christian Johnston. He is survived by: his children, April Walsh (Luke) and Benjamin Johnston (Jessica); his grandchildren, Tyler Goodwin, Christian Goodwin, Kendall Goodwin, Caitlyn Underwood (Roarke), Mattie Walker, Charlie Walsh and Hadley Walsh; his great grandchild Jane Underwood; and his siblings, Diane Link (Glenn) and Freddy Johnston (Diane).
