She was predeceased by: her parents, Morris Larosco McDaniel, Sr. and Evie Louise Nowell McDaniel; her brother Colonel Morris Larosco McDaniel, Jr.; her close friend Essie Grass; and her grandson Corey Zimmermann.
She is survived by: her children, Melanie Zimmermann (David) of Hickory, NC and Ken Johnson (Heidi) of West Lafayette, IN; her siblings-in-law, Patricia McDaniel and Jim Johnson (Lisa); and her friends, Clarence and Joyce Pugh. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
