He is survived by: his children, Paula H. Hill (William) of Maiden, NC, Rickey Hoover (Kelly Rucker) of Hickory, NC and Alexis Hoover of Hickory, NC.; his stepchildren, Joy Tucker of Hickory, NC, Betty David (Michael) of Durham, NC and Paul Conner (Elaine) of Durham, NC; his sister Mertice Ruth Carson of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Stephanie Hoover, Jessica Cratch (Brandon) and Amira C. Hoover; and his great grandchildren, Ella Grace Cratch and Makena Koby Cratch. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (416 2nd Ave SE, Hickory, NC 28602). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
