He was predeceased by: his father Clarence Everett Pruitt. He is survived by: his mother Grace Shelton Pruitt of Hickory; his wife Deborah Kanupp Pruitt; his daughter Emily Pruitt Rector (Alex) of Hickory; his grandsons, Jack, Hayes and Reid Rector; and his siblings, Gloria Hix of Hickory, Mercia Barringer (David) of Hickory, Bruce Pruitt of Sherrills Ford, Gary Pruitt (Kim) of Garner and Clarence Pruitt of Hickory. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
