He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Alan Brittain, Rodney Harris (Becky), Jennifer Travis (John) and Tammy Bickston (Steve); and his grandchildren, Dylan Travis (Haley), Jessica Travis, Lauren Brittain, Christian Harris (Jenna), Ethan Harris, Lilah Bickston and Abby Bickston.

The family ask in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Catawba County Humane Society, 3224 20th Avenue, SE, Hickory, NC 28602.
