He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Reeves and Marguerite Reeves; his sons, Ricky Reeves and Randy Reeves; and his siblings, Sam Reeves, Jack Reeves, Kaye Reeves and Ramona Reeves Campbell.

He is survived by: his daughters, Tammi Houston (Matt) of Hickory and Tina Eckard of Hickory; his grandchildren, Jessica Beach Williams of Hickory, Tyler Eckard (Faith) of Durham, Murphey Houston (Kristin) of Winston Salem, Bailey Eckard of Hickory, Zachary Houston (Taylor) of Winston Salem and Courtney Houston of Winston Salem; and his great grandchild Walker Houston of Winston Salem.
