He was predeceased by: his parents, Logan Edward Hibbitts and Georgia Wright Hibbitts; his former wife Joan Grogan Hibbitts; and his brothers, Edward Harold Hibbitts, Sr. and Harry Lee Hibbitts.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Mullins Hibbitts; his children, Katheryn Hibbitts Powers (John) of Greenville, S. C. and Mark B. Hibbitts of Moravian Falls, N. C; his grandchildren, Nathaniel S. Powers, Ben W. Powers, Emily E. Powers of Greenville, S. C., Daniel Logan Hibbitts of Conover, N. C. and Jessica Hibbitts Woodie (Brock) of Hickory; and his great grandchildren, Amelia Grace Scovern, Rylann Woodie and Lawson Woodie. He is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Viewmont Baptist Church, 1246 2nd Street NE, Hickory.
