He was predeceased by: his parents, John Horace and Elsie Fox Bailey; his significant other Lois Bartlett; his brothers, Kermit Bailey and Johnnie Ray Bailey; his siblings-in-law, Ora Mae Bailey and C. Carl Woods Jr.; and his stepchildren, Lisa Ward and Dennis Ward.
He is survived by: his siblings, Shelby Woods of Raleigh, NC and Danny Bailey (Teresa) of Coral Springs, FL.; his children, Joseph Bailey (Yvonne) of Hickory, NC, Roger Bailey Jr. (Yolanda) of Hickory, NC, Aaron Deyton of Old Fort, NC and Cheryl Arrowood (Daniel) of Murrells Inlet, SC; his stepdaughter Penny Starnes of Wilkesboro, NC; his grandchildren, Nichole, Johnny, Jacob, Jennifer, Ashli, Carlos, Jessica, Trey, Weston, Savannah, Melody and Dustin; his great grandchildren, Skylar, Lyla, Riley, Bentley, Naomi, Octavia and Landon; and his brother Dennis Carswell (Shane Gunter) of McDowell Church.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Zion Baptist Church (18 Lower Pigpen Rd, Green Mountain, NC 28740). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
