He was predeceased by: his parents, Cletus Clifton and Mary Lou White Mays; his son Ronald G. Mays; his grandson Brett Randall Mays; and his sisters, Joanne Hall and Phyllis Drum.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Sigmon Mays; his son Randall M. Mays (Teresa); his daughter-in-law Rhonda Mays of Lincolnton; and his brother Larry H. Mays (Eunice) of Conover. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Christ Lutheran Church at 324 2nd Ave. SE, Hickory, NC 28602 in Rowe's name.
