She was predeceased by : her parents, George Burge and Helen Burge; her husband James Long; her sons, Randy Long, Scott Long and John Andrew Long; and her siblings, Paul Burge, Delores Justice and Orphia Allen.

She is survived by : her children, Kathy Byrum of Charlotte, NC, Mark Long of Keller, Gary Long of Hickory and Steve Carpenter of Charlotte, N. C; her brothers, James Burge of Morganton and JD Burge of Richmond; her grandchildren, Sara Matthews (Richland Hills), David Long of Fort Worth, Patrick Chipley of Mooresville, NC, Alex Chipley of Charlotte, NC, Philip Warren of Hickory, NC and Amber Morrison of Granite Falls, NC.; and her great grandchildren, Anna, P. J. Warren of Hickory, NC, Knox, Kenzi Morrison of Granite Falls, NC, Emily, James Matthews, Richland Hills and Emilia Chipley of Charlotte, NC..
