She is survived by: her mother Lucy Mae Howard Ussery; her former husband Creston Lamart Hooks; her sons, Christian J. Hooks and Ojah Vasser, Jr.; her siblings, Willie Ussery (Sompong) of Tallahassee, FL., Robert Ussery (Lisa) of Fuquay Varina, N. C., Floyd Ussery (Vanessa) of Woodstock, Ted Ussery of Hickory, N. C., Kenneth Ussery (Melinda) of Hickory, N. C., Randy Ussery of Hickory, Priscilla Ussery Wilfong of Hickory, Lucy Irene Pegram of Detroit, Peggy Ussery Gilliam of Hickory, N. C. and Mary Ussery (Sylvia) of Charlottte, N. C; and her close friend Sergio Martinho. She is also survived by nieces, nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews, and her loving dog.

“I am so sorry to hear of this lost, at this very minute I am just learning of this, Vasser and I went through Basic Training and AIT together back in 91/92, a very beautiful person, I have been looking for her over the years and it breaks my heart to find out this, sending prayers of comfort, strength and prayers to her family and friends, glad I had to chance to meet and get to know her when I did.”
