It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Eugene Alexander of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on September 6, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hall Alexander and Mary Turner Alexander; his wife Shirley Newell Alexander; and his siblings, Arthur Alexander, Ethel Sigmon, Ruth Alexander and Geraldine Little.

He is survived by: his children, David Alexander (Robin) of Sugar Mountain and Myra Holland (Bob) of Hickory; his grandchildren, Bradley Alexander of Lincolnton, Erica Page (Micah) and Amanda Haney (Joe) of Hickory; his great grandchildren, Ella and Logan Page of Hickory; and his close friend Betti Confetti Haney.
