We are sad to announce that on April 8, 2022, at the age of 72, Tommy Whitener of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ned Whitener and Mary Jenkins Whitener; his former wife Peggy Diane Bailey Whitener; and his wife Lisa Ann Lail Whitener. He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer W. Garrett (Tim) of Wake Forest, NC and Emily Beth Whitener of Hickory, NC; his grandchildren, Jason Garrett (Ashley) of Stem, NC, Jack Garrett of Wake Forest, NC, Chelsey G. Harward (Drew) of Durham, NC and Jordan Dancy of Hickory, NC; his great grandchild Teagan Garrett of Stem, NC; his brother Henry Bryan Whitener of Hickory, NC.; and his pet Blue. He is also survived by 3 cats.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Catawba County.
