It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Victor Barron Stamey of Hickory, North Carolina, who passed away on April 17, 2026, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George William Stamey and Mildred Pauline Carlton Martin; his stepfather Stewart Martin; and his brother George Daniel Stamey. He is survived by: his stepson David Canham; his sister Deborah Stamey Wheeler (Earmel); his nieces, Wendy Wheeler Baird (Duane) and Paulette Wheeler Plumber; his nephew Jason Wheeler (Kathy); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Antashia Edwards, Alexis Edwards, Halie Robinson, Sabrina Wheeler Cooper, Elizah Robinson and Caden Wheeler.
