He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert Yount and Mamie Keller Yount; his former wife Dorothy Ellis Yount; his son Terry Lee Yount; and his siblings, Helen Yount Bumgarner, Ilene Yount Haas, Ethel Yount, Edna Yount, Charles Yount, Homer Yount and William Yount.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Teague Yount; his son Wade R. Yount Jr. (Glenda) of Granite Falls; his daughter-in-law Tammy Yount Bolick (Allen) of Granite Falls; his grandchildren, Amber Yount McGhinnis (Jason), Adam Yount (Robin), Amanda Yount Hughey (David) and A. J. Yount (Anna); his stepdaughter Cheryl Dockery; and his stepgrandson Hampton Dockery. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
