He is survived by: his wife Fredia Propst Fortenberry; his children, Michael Fortenberry (Lisa) of Hickory and Carla Fortenberry (Kelly Beaver) of Hildebran; his mother Floy Burns Fortenberry of Hickory; his siblings, Charlie Fortenberry (Irene) of Hickory, James Fortenberry of Hickory, Jerry "Red" Fortenberry (Sherry) of Icard, Ronnie "Fred" Fortenberry of Connelly Springs, Judy Anderson of Hickory and Brenda Huffman (Rick) of Hickory; and his grandchildren, Allison Fortenberry (Cody Rutherford), Haley Tizon (Danny) and Josie Ingle (Tanner). He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
