He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack McCurdy and Ruby "Sarah" Childers McCurdy; and his son-in-law Bob Leenerts. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Barnwell McCurdy; his children, Enita Leenerts, Tina Walker (Mark), Jenny Davis (Jody) and Jason McCurdy (Sarah); his grandchildren, Atina Elder (Donny), Nici Leenerts, Jackson Walker, Dawson Walker (Amber), Gretchen Davis, Parker Davis, Zack McCurdy, Zander McCurdy, Camden McCurdy and Carsyn McCurdy; his great grandchild Winston Walker; his sister Tammy Ball (Frank); his nephews, Brandon Ball (Sierra) and Kevin Ball; his great-nephew Mason Ball; his great-niece Hadley Ball; and his sister-in-law Cindy Cole (Keith).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Freedom Baptist Church (124 Sulphur Springs Rd, Hiddenite, NC 28681). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
