It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Larry Sharpe of Hiddenite, North Carolina, who passed away on April 5, 2026, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Billy Sharpe and Norma Frances Mayberry Sharpe; his stepson Rhondle Scott Mays; and his stepgrandson Rhondle Eugene Mays II. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Sharpe; his daughter Ginger Ann Sharpe Alexander (Melvin) of Statesville; his stepchildren, Mike Mays (Carla) of Statesville and Melisa Huffman of Newton; his brother William Gale Sharpe (Janice) of Hiddenite; his grandchildren, Jasiah Sharpe, Chelsea Burke, Michelle Mays, Savannah Huffman and Zoie Mays; and his close friends, Jon Kerley and Roy Brown. He is also survived by eight loving great-grandchildren.
