We are sad to announce that on April 14, 2024, at the age of 70, Rickie Jay Burgess (Hiddenite, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his father J. C. Burgess; and his siblings, Juanita Worth and John Clay Burgess. He is survived by : his mother Lillie Blankenship Burgess; his wife Sharon Wilcox Burgess; his daughter Felicia Burgess Cook; his sister Teresa High (Michael); his grandchildren, Lydia Anderson (Wesley) and Jacob Clark; his great grandchildren, Blake Anderson, Maddox Clark and Brynlee Clark; and his close friend Charlie Sigmon. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the East Taylorsville Baptist Church - Sanctuary (644 1st St NW, Taylorsville, NC 28681). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at the Hiddenite Cemetery (136 Prichard Ln, Hiddenite, NC 28636).
