She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Hufford and Amanda Best Hufford; her husband Leon Schute; and her sons-in-law, Ben Lacy and Pete Thompson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sandy Lacy of Richmond, VA, Mary Gail Kyle (Jack) of Baton Rouge, LA and Jo Thompson of High Point; and her grandchildren, Rice Lacy (Carlie), Callie Brackett (Alex), Mary Keever, Kristin Ewen (Andy), Betsy Cottam, Tyler Thompson (Laura) and Kennedy Thompson. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws, and caregivers.
