It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bert Westervelt Rau (High Point, North Carolina), who passed away on July 11, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry John and Julia Westervelt Rau; his sisters, Marjory Rau Graser (Fritz) and Ethel Rau Muehlenweg (Charles); his son John Frederick Rau; and his friend Glenn MacKellar.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Roberts Rau; his daughters, Barabara Skinner (Steve) and Joanne Hoover (Richard); his daughter-in-law Joyce Rau; his grandchildren, Jonathon Rau (Charlotte), Erica Rau (Stacey Taylor), Matthew Skinner, Stephanie Skinner and Katie Skinner (Jonathan); and his great grandchildren, Luke Griffith, John Rau, Michael Rau and Matthew Rau.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of your choice or the Salvation Army.
