He was predeceased by: his parent Evelina Hardie Lee; his wife Patricia Dawkins Hardie (PD); and his siblings, Maxine Brand, Earline Everett and Clarence James Hardie.
He is survived by: his son Darryl Swindell, Sr.; his siblings, Thelma Oxendine (Willie) of High Point, NC and Thomas Lee, Jr. of Winston Salem, NC; and his close friend Clara Wallace. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives, and friends.
