She is survived by: her parents, Charles Bell and Harriett Wilson Bell; her husband Gary "J. R."; and her siblings, Harold Bell and Lisa Bell.

I have only talked to her a few times since those days as we get caught up in life, but I have the fondest memories of our time together. “I will always love Brenda with all my heart, just like she was part of my family. We spent so many hours on the phone during high school. Every time I would think of doing something stupid I would think of how disappointed she would be if I did it. If it wasn't for her I would not have made it through college and life.
