It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cathleen Lawton of High Point, North Carolina, born in Davidson, North Carolina, who passed away on July 23, 2023, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Mitchell and Mary Elizabeth Bush Mitchell; her husband Gerald Lawton; and her brother Fred Mitchell. She is survived by: her children, Odessa Lawton (Jose Matamoros) of Maryland, Sherrie Lawton (Rayvon Robinson) of High Point and Jerry Lawton of Lexington; her grandchildren, Mya Lawton, Logan Lawton and Lillian Lawton; and her siblings, Leroy "Ted" Coleman (Diane) of Lexington, William Edward Mitchell of Winston-Salem, Mayhew Mitchell of High Point, Marlon Davis of Elizabeth, NJ, Robert Davis of Connecticut and Linda Coleman Barmore Gunn of Columbus. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
