He was predeceased by : his parents, Cardozia Ellison and Mabel Smith Ellison; and his siblings, Nathaniel, Calvin and Virginia.

He is survived by : his wife Harriett Smith; his sons, Harry John Doulgas (Keri) and Nathaniel Alvarez Ellison (Danielle); his grandchildren, Imoni, Safiyya, Zoe and Kylah; and his brother Lee Ellison (Diane). He is also survived by other loving family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Phillips Funeral Service Chapel (1810 Brockett Ave, High Point, NC 27260). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
