He is survived by: his wife Gloria Odom; his children, Karen Elaine Odom of High Point, Daniel R. Odom, Jr. of Ocala, FL, Jennifer Odom Kallao (Chris) of Winston-Salem and Jonathan G. Odom; his grandchildren, Daniel Odom III, J. V. Hipp II, William Kallao, Margaret Odom and Jonathan G. Odom, Jr.; his great grandchild James Hipp III; and his stepsons, Jerry Pierce of Texas, Brent Pierce of Kentucky and Jon Paul Pierce of California.

He served over a decade as the treasurer of the High Point Community Foundation, for which he received the Spirit of the Foundation Award in 2008.
