He was predeceased by: his siblings, Gail Morgan and Tony Hankins; and his wife Carol Furr. He is survived by: his daughters, Robyn Hankins and Lori Lyons (Christopher) of Franklinville; his mother-in-law Faye Furr of Concord; his grandsons, Alexander Lyons of Franklinville and Avery Lyons of Franklinville; his brother Mark Hankins (Doris) of Trinity; his siblings-in-law, Donna Hall (Doug) of Plant City, Fla., David Furr of Plant City, Fla. and Todd Furr (Kendra) of Salisbury; and his goddaughter Marissa Williams of Thomasville. He is also survived by six nephews and two nieces; an aunt, uncle, and several cousins.
