He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas A. Kemp and Ruth Cranford Kemp; and his brother Thomas Alton Kemp, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Marie Ann Shoffner; his sons, Steve Kemp (Karen) of Colfax and Mike Kemp (Shannon) of Winston-Salem; his stepdaughters, Tracy Phillips (Brian) of Burlington and Christy Speight (Rod) of Greensboro; his siblings, Iva Jean Marshburn of High Point, Peggy Weaver of High Point and Richard "Dick" Kemp (Beverly) of High Point; and his grandchildren, Olivia, Sophia, Sam, Alex, Chris and Dylan.
