Douglas Gillespie Sr. Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas Gillespie Sr. (High Point, North Carolina), who passed away on December 6, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Gillespie and Pearlie Douglas Gillespie; his siblings, Minnie, James Henry, Herman, Clyde, Charles, John Gillespie, Ernestine Baker and Helen Currie; and his grandson Steveland Gillespie.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Gillespie; his children, Douglas, Jr. Gillespie (Fay) of High Point, NC, Belinda Alexander (Sylvester) of Columbus, GA, Anita Jones, Marva Hairston of High Point and JoAnn Ingram (Robert) of Greensboro, NC; his brothers, Gilbert Gillespie (Tammy) of Greensboro, NC and Clinton Gillespie (Annie) of Greensboro, NC; his sisters-in-law, Mary Gillespie, Wanda Gillespie, Elanor McLean and Sarah Evans (Willie); and his grandchildren, Yolanda, Jocelyn, Josh, Nolan, Jonathan, Willie, Ralph, Darius, Jasmine, Pierre and Joseph. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Williams Memorial Cme Church (3400 Triangle Lake Rd, High Point, NC 27260).
