She was predeceased by: her parents, John Melton and Marie Melton. She is survived by: her husband Royce Aldwin Gillis; her children, Sherri Lynn Gillis, Anita Layne Gillis Frye and Jonathan Royce Gillis (Mary Koontz Gillis); her grandchildren, Raegan Elizabeth Frye White (Clayton), Hunter Trace Frye (Madeleine), Carter Holden Frye (Brett), Hannah Grace Gillis Robertson (Murray), Salem Renee Gillis, Charlotte Hope Gillis and Palah Layne Gillis; her great grandchildren, Adaline Margaret White, Meredith Ellen White, Lillibet Andrews White, Julia Cecile White, Charlotte Anne Frye, Claire Bernadette Frye and John Duncan Robertson; her sister Nancy Wilkerson (Larry); her niece Amanda Wilkerson Herrera (Ji); and her nephew Jason Wilkerson (Meredith). She is also survived by family members and friends.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Cumby Family Funeral Service - High Point (1015 Eastchester Dr, High Point, NC 27262). Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 11:45 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of The Piedmont of High Point, NC or Emerywood Baptist Church of High Point, NC.
