He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Homer Hines and Mary Bessie Weavil Hines; his wife Carole Byerly Hines; and his sisters, Frances Stroud and Betty Lambeth.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry Marion (Arvil), Donna Clements (Cary) and Randy Hines; his siblings, Carol Dean Wagoner, Garland Homer Hines (Dottie) and Ronald Joe Hines; his grandchildren, Denise Herrin (Chuck), Scott Marion (Lori), Melissa Shampine (Danny) and Rod Hines (Samantha); and his great grandchildren, Madison, Willow Herrin, Reed Marion, Alexis, Alyssa Marion and Makenna Tysinger. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
