He is survived by: his mother Vera Smith Goins Hopkins; his daughter Gabrial "Gabby" Nicole Berry (Dewayne); his grandchildren, Xander Dewayne Berry of Tabor City and Brooklyn Chanel Berry of Tabor City; his niece Jessica Renee Lyles (Michael) of Jacksonville, Florida; and his pets, Marvin and Smoke Ray.
