He was predeceased by: his father James O. Hutchins; and his brother Rick Hutchins. He is survived by: his mother Beatrice Ball Hutchins of High Point; his son Nick Hutchins of Thomasville; and his brother Scott Hutchins (Anissa) of Lexington.
