He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivey Petty, Sr. and Veola Petty; and his brothers, Shelly Miles Petty and Charles Dean Petty. He is survived by: his wife Eulah Lanier Petty; his stepson Franklin Lanier (Dottie) of Maplewood, Minnesota; his daughter Tomeka Harris (Kenneth, Jr.) of Burlington; his siblings, Ivey Petty, Jr. of Winston-Salem, Vinnie Garland of Lexington and Carolyn Jordan of Lexington; his nephew Richard Todd Harris of Winston-Salem; his grandchildren, Destin Burton, Kayla Harris, Jasmine Harris, Bryanna Lanier, Gabriel Lanier, Madison Lanier, Adam Lanier, Titus Lanier and Simeon Lanier; his great grandchildren, Mossiah Evans, Malikki Evans and Mansa Evans; and his cousin Greg. He is also survived by many aunts, nieces, nephews.
