He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar H. Frye and Florence Y. Frye; and his brother Pete Frye. He is survived by: his daughters, Libby Paulson (Bill), Vanne Rogers (Rick), Helen Groce (Greg) and April Frye; and his grandchildren, Joseph Groce (Kaitlyn), Emily Whitehead, Carl Paulson and Anna Paulson.

After several years, he decided to start his own service showing and fitting show cattle which he did until the pandemic in 2020.
