He was predeceased by: his parents, Esker Smith and Mildred Smith of King, NC; and his sister Rae Baker. He is survived by: his wife Leah Hooker; his daughter Denise Hooker White (Bill); his granddaughter Kellie Hooker; his stepgrandchildren, Meredith Highfill and Jon White (Joan); his sisters, Pat Brady (Mike) and Beth Upchurch (Steve); and his godsons, Cliff and Clay Carmichael. He is also survived by twin great grandchildren.
