Haywood West Obituary
It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Haywood West (High Point, North Carolina), who passed away at the age of 76, on April 2, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though Haywood may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Haywood touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his brothers, Lee and Norman (Carol); his wife Kathy; his children, Taylor (Maria) and Derek (Traci); and his grandchildren, Ryder, River, Oliver and Josephine Banks. He was also cherished by the brothers wittingly had their mother.
Details of the trip are fuzzy—some say vodka was involved, and possibly an unsanctioned contribution to the Red Square's irrigation system—but while they may or may not have narrowly avoided arrest by the KGB, they both returned home with their freedom, a suitcase full of souvenirs, and a story they could never legally tell in full.
