We are sad to announce that, on January 2, 2026, at the age of 98, Jacqueline (Jackie) Payne Shackelford (High Point, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Asia Payne and Annie Shields Payne; her husband Joseph Charles Shackelford; her daughter Sharon Shackelford Stewart (William); her grandsons, Chris Stewart of High Point and Brooks Stewart of High Point; and her siblings, Donald Payne, Sr., Richard Payne, Thomas Asia Payne, Jr. (T. A.) and Lucille Payne Fitzgerald.

She is survived by: her caregivers, Stephanie Brown, Marsha Mendenhall and Jackie.
