He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Johnny William Strickland and Ethel Gray Strickland; his daughters, Krystale Danielle Strickland of Raeford, NC and Ashley Strickland of Norfolk; his grandchildren, James Darnell Murphy III, Syleena Strickland, Sariah Baron and Shane Baron; his siblings, Tony McCorkle (Daisy) of Archdale, NC, Hubert Strickland (Joyce) of Greensboro, NC, William Strickland (Verna) of High Point, NC., Virgellen Bynum (Wilton) of High Point, NC, Sandra Thomasson of High Point, NC and Sally McKiver (Ben) of High Point, NC.; and his close friend Tiny Lindsay.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Phillips Funeral Service, Inc. (1810 Brockett Ave, High Point, NC 27260).
