He was predeceased by: his parents, James Paul Armstrong, Sr. and Frances Bacon Armstrong. He is survived by: his son James P. Armstrong, III (Sonia) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Nathan Armstrong (Kelly) and Kayleigh Dittmer (Cole); his daughter Glenna Lee Armstrong Wagner (Randy) of Garner; his grandchildren, Victoria Lee Martin, Robert Martin and Emily Rain (Ben); his great grandchildren, Olivia Dittmer and Thaddeus Rain; his brother Bill Armstrong (Ellen) of Richmond, VA; and his close friend Harriet Mattes of High Point.
