He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Rich Groome; his children, Jessica Goome Pope (Billy) of Willow Spring and Barrett Groome (Rachel) of Greensboro; his grandchildren, Carson Pope, Leighton Jaymes Pope and Grey Groome; his sisters, Susan Shaw, Janet Cecil and Julie Sparks; and his nieces, Tori, Liz, Jennifer and Stephanie.
