He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Morris and Geneva Preston Morris; his wife Helena Doris Robinson Morris; his children, James E. Morris, Jr. (Mary) and Jena Morris Johnson (Jeffrey); and his siblings, Mary Davidson and John Morris.
He is survived by: his daughter Teresa Morris of High Point; his brother Bernard "Tan" Morris of Weeki Wachee, FL; and his grandchildren, Tamara Johnson Sparks (Raeford) of High Point, Antoinette Morris (Gabriel "Diego", Sr.) of Newport News, VA, Kevin Morris (Jernell) of Hampton, VA and Tonya Johnson of High Point. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
