It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Wesley Kennedy (High Point, North Carolina), who passed away on April 24, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry William and Connie Robinson Kennedy; his wife Margaret White Kennedy; his son Mark Kennedy; and his siblings, Hilda Cox, Arnold Kennedy and Raymond Kennedy.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tammy Sykes (Mike) of Archdale and Sarah Farrell (Kevin) of Snow Camp; his stepchildren, Janie Portis of Archdale and Christopher "Chris" J. Kinney (Jennifer) of Asheboro; his daughter-in-law Angela Kennedy of Sophia; his grandchildren, Wesley Sykes (Amber), Daniel Sykes, Tracy Hicks (Leland), Emmi Farrell, Hart Farrell, Kyle Farrell, Cooper Farrell, Chasity Smith (Chris), Katie Kennedy, Mark Kennedy, Jr., Haven Teague (Grant), Jordan Greer (Cody) and Ethan Kinney; and his great grandchildren, Autumn Sykes, Jacob Sykes, Duncan Sykes, Christian Hicks, Savannah Hicks, Mallory Johnson (Peyton), Madison Graybeal, Haven Smith and Hayden Smith. He is also survived by one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at the Providence Wesleyan Church (1505 E Fairfield Rd, High Point, NC 27263). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
