She is survived by: her husband Edwin Rankin; her sister Martha Joiner; her brother-in-law Lonnie Joiner of Hickory; her nephews, Bruce Carlton, Grant Carlton and Jeff Joiner; her brother-in-law Gene Kester of High Point; her stepdaughter Whitney Melchiorre (Matt); her stepgranddaughter Jo; Linda Misenheimer and Jane Kester.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Life Tribute Center of Cumby Family Funeral Service (1015 Eastchester Dr, High Point, NC 27262). Visitation was held on Monday, November 17th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hinesely in Home Care in Asheboro, NC or AuthoraCare Hospice Collective, Greensboro, North Carolina whose care and compassion from both organizations over the past years, brought Jo Ann and her family deep comfort.
